How many children attend St Mary’s? St Mary’s currently has 82 students from Kindergarten to Year 2. How many classes at St Mary’s? One class of thirty students is maintained in each grade. These are all single-age classes. Does St Mary’s school have a church? St Mary’s school site is next door to St Catherine’s Church. Each school year is opened and drawn to a close with a Eucharistic celebration. Each class enjoys the opportunity to prepare and celebrate a mass with the parish community twice during the year. St Catherine’s church is the gathering point for a number of non- Eucharistic liturgies during the year. What opportunities are there for parents to be involved? Parents can be involved at all levels: in classrooms, hospitality, fundraising, Parents and Friends, liturgies, gross motor activities, computer activities, canteen assistants, at sporting events and working bees. What extra curricular opportunities are available for the children? There are various sporting clinics which run throughout the year. These include cricket, rugby league and soccer, as well as school carnivals for swimming and athletics from which children can move onto state level. The students participate in music lessons once a week and percussion once a fortnight.
Enrolment preference is given in the first instance to students of Catholic families who live and participate in the local parish. Students from non-Catholic backgrounds can be accepted depending on vacancies and current conditions. All families considering enrolment are required to support Catholic ideals, principles and values. What is the fee structure?
Fees for a year are currently:- There is also a compulsory Building Levy of $468 per family and a resource fee of $120 per child. Do St Mary’s students have access to After School Care?
